Getting Closer…

I am starting a new weekly post for y’all. I have a ton of these and rather then send a giant forward to everyone I will be milking this one week at a time till I get to my favorite. As you can see from the picture it is a HUGE day at in Walton! Buddy and I were up at what he called “the butt crack of dawn” (about 9:30 AM) to take this picture. Why you ask? Because it is our Birth-a-versary! Or to describe it with words I didn’t just make up, it is Buddy’s 8th Birthday and my 10 year anniversary with Comair. You might say that is quite a coincidence that Buddy’s birthday and my anniversary date with Comair are the same, and you would be right. Except I made it that way….
Six and a half years ago Mr. Budwick J. Dog left his temporary housing arrangement at the Boone County Animal Shelter (where he was marked as a “stray“!) to come live with me, and he has not look back since. The only snag with that is we really didn’t know when he birthday was. So when the vet told us he was “about a year and a half old” I noticed it was very close to my official hire date with Comair. Since I have trouble remembering anything I decided to make his Birthday the same date as my anniversary date with Comair!
Some more trivia for ya, Molliken T. Cat’s birthday is the day I closed on the house, the combination to my flight case is my birthday, and my wedding anniversary is stamped on the inside of my ring! Fun how that works huh!?!
As for my anniversary with Comair I am not sure if I should be happy and proud or embarrassed and depressed. Either way they gave me the cool present in the picture…. and right now you are thinking they gave you a Jumbone? Almost, they gave me the pin on the right. Same as the pin I got at on my five year anniversary, which was the same as the pin I got on my one year anniversary… except it has an extra red dot thing-y. (So three red dots for 10 years of service? huh? almost makes sense…) And just like Buddy’s birthday this date is also sort of made up also. I actually started at Comair in June of 1998 but back then they didn’t consider you an actual employee until you finished the three month training program. So here we are, August 11th… 10 long crazy years. I will say one thing, without Comair I would have never met my sweeter so it has not been all bad.

Erin and I went to the lake again this last weekend. While we were there we hung out at the house with Tom, Kathy, Jon, Ida, Jon, and Lynn. Weather was super hot and sunny all weekend but real nice in the water. Steve and Jan were down as well and we all took a pontoon ride over to Flat Hallow on one of the days.
