Good to Know…

This past week I had the chance to try out something pretty neat on the ever so frequently mentioned Greatlandings photo site. I wanted to get a whole bunch of prints from the lake for a project Adam A is working on. Normally I find the picture I want, hover the mouse over it, and click the download button. This gives me the highest resolution version of that picture so that I can print it my self, or upload it to Walgreens or something like that.

But this time I had a lot of pictures to print out. So I decided to try something else out. On the photo site when you are looking at a picture, just above and to the right is a BUY button. If you click on it a popup window will open. On that window are all the various options you can order. Everything ranging from 4×6 in 4 different finishes (matte, luster, glossy, metallic) all the way up to 36×40 canvas print. There are also photo cards, coffee cups, mouse pads, aprons, key chains, and everything else you can think of. There are also two really cool features to this BUY button as well. First, if for some reason the image is not high enough quality to print bigger then sm_buysay 4×6, it will tell you. The second cool feature is that you can add stuff across all the various albums. Meaning you can be on one album, pick a few pictures you would like 4×6 glossy prints of, continue browsing in that same or any other album, and then add more prints of the same or different sizes. Then check out all at once!

So back to my experience. I added around 150 pictures from various albums across the entire site. I picked all 4×6 glossy prints and the price was $0.19 each. When I got to the shipping page I selected the cheapest option that said 6-10 days. Grand total on my order was just under $30. The best part, they were at my front door before the end of the week. I think it took about three days max for them all to show up. And best of all, the quality was great!

Anyway, just wanted to pass along how things worked out for me in case anyone was interested. The printing service is completely separate from me or Greatlandings. It is just a service that is connected with SmugMug. But I would personally highly recommend them if you are looking to get some high quality prints, quick and easy off the site. See ya~
