Great Landings

Erin and I just returned from another fun filled weekend at Norris Lake. While the weather probably could have been a little nicer to us, it was still an awesome time. As usual there was some swimming, some fishing, some eating, some lots of drinking, and even a bit of jumping. And by jumping I am talking about the good old bridge jumping kind. If you take a look at the pictures you will see Adam, Simmie, Justin, and Cole… let me say that last one again… COLE… All up on the bridge jumping off. In fact Justin and Cole went twice, while it took every fiber in his scared silly body to get Simmie to jump the first time!

Here is a little something for that “Only on the Internet!” file. The website www.FancyFastFood.com takes regular food from fast food restaurants and creates better looking and probably better tasting food from them. Take the image to the right for example. Looks yummy enough right? It is called “Le Chicken McConfit” and it was created using the ingredients from a McDonalds ten piece Chicken McNugget meal, a Fruit and Walnut Salad, and some assorted condiments. Don’t believe me? Check out the video below. Absolutely amazing! And if you think that is cool, you should visit the site and see how a dozen maple donuts gets turned into a really nice looking Tiramisu!

This past Sunday was the 9th annual Goodtimer Freedom Ride. Erin and I were in attendance where Erin helped with several things, and I walking around with the camera. If I heard correctly there was around 365 bikes that took part in the ride, and judging by the crowd afterwords at least double or more at the after party. There was booths, bands, beer, and babes (or was it babies?) and the whole event was a great time. I ended up taking around 1200 pictures although many of them are of the motorcycles heading out and coming back in. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make such an awesome event possible. Just a friendly reminder that the annual Goodtimer Freedom Ride is this Sunday August 16th, 2009. More information can be found on the website HERE but I have included a map below to the Gailey VFW if that is all you need. $15 to ride in the event and registration starts at 9:00AM. If you would just like to come for the party it is only $5 and there will be food, beer, door prizes, fun, and lots of live music! This is an awesome event for a great cause and all you need is the desire to have a great time. Hope to see you there!

Erin and I were at the lake this past weekend. The water was warm and the beer was cold so lots of good times were had.
