Hello everyone, welcome back to Baby Watch for week #13! Erin and the baby are feeling great! In fact I think she is feeling better then ever so that is a huge positive! She is still a little tired here and there, but it is hard to say if that is due to being pregnant or because sleeping is her favorite hobby. On Monday we celebrated Erin’s birthday by going to our second baby doctor appointment. I think we both expected a little more to happen, but all they really did was talk to us and give us some papers to fill out. The highlight was being able to listen to the heartbeat again. Still totally amazing to be able to hear a baby inside there. Our next appointment isn’t for another four weeks, and by that time I am hoping they hook us up with another ultrasound.
On the baby site there is all sorts of good stuff. They say the organs, muscles, and nerves are formed and starting to work together. They say the eyes and ears are clearly defined but that the baby’s eyelids are fused together to protect the still-developing eyes. Vocal cords are are developing and tissue that will eventually harden into bone is starting to show up in the head, arms, and legs. They also say that tiny ribs might even be visible! Sweet! See ya next week!
