Baby Watch – Week #27

Welcome to baby watch for Week #27, otherwise known as the start of the third trimester! That is right folks we are in the final third of this baby cook off and rapidly approaching the finish line. Erin and baby are doing great! Erin says she can feel the baby moving all the time now. I can still only get a bump every now and then, but when I do feel a little kick it is nothing short of amazing! Erin has been feeling a little better then before but still gets pretty sore now and then. Other then that there has not been much to report.

I am not privy to information on the wheres and whens of upcoming showers. I just know that they are happening at some point. After they are done I guess we can finalize getting the stuff we are going to need when the baby comes. Funny to think that in a few short months there will be a house full of baby stuff… oh yeah, and a baby! I did buy some outlet covers a couple of weeks ago. Might be a tad premature but it was all I could think of at the time. Erin will have to figure out what else we need to get and pass it on to me. But I can’t help but to feel a sense of urgency about getting ready for some reason.

Here is what we have on the baby site for week #27 ~

Baby’s Growth and Development at 27 Weeks Pregnant

Your baby gets very active at 27 weeks pregnant. Discover the other changes she’s going through:

  • At 27 weeks pregnant, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds, and is about the length of a head of broccoli.
  • Her lungs, liver, and immune system keep maturing.
  • She may know your voice and your partner’s voice.
  • During the 27th week of pregnancy, your baby is as much as four times longer than she was during the 12th week of pregnancy.

Well I can’t say that broccoli gives me a good feeling seeing as I have spent most of my life immediately saying “yuck” after hearing the work broccoli, but knowing that the baby might know my voice is pretty cool. See ya next week!
