Family Picnic and Pig Roast

Saturday was the combined 2009 Goodtimer Family Picnic and Annual Rudy Pig Roast out at Robert and Judy Rudy’s house compound. There was tons of food, people, fun, and fireworks. We had a chipping contest across the lake, and even a DJ at night. All and all it was a awesome night and outside of a 30 min rain shower that passed through I don’t think it could have been any better! I was a little lacking in the picture department because of the rain, but you can check out the ones I did take on the Greatlandings Photo Site in the Family Picnic 2009 album. Thanks to Robert, Judy, and everyone else who helped make it a great night!

Baseball After Party – Part 2

Like I posted the other day Cory had a game Friday at the Florence Freedom ball field here by our house. Even though it was a cool 91 degrees it was a great time watching Cory and his team play in such an awesome park. After the game everyone came over for some drinks, BBQ, and RockBand! All and all it was a great time! Thanks to everyone for coming over, and good job to Cory and his team. Check out the pictures in the “Cory Florence Freedom Game” album on the  Greatlandings photo site!

PS – Fun Greatlandings fact: This marks the 100th picture album on the Greatlandings photo site, and brings the total picture count to 8829!

Baseball After Party

ChampionWindowFieldFlorenceThis is reminder for anyone who didn’t get the email from Erin, the Facebook event invite, the Evite, or read about it on twitter, Cory Cook has a baseball game at the Florence Freedom ball field (also known as Champion Window Field) in Florence KY this Friday at 12:30. Since the field is only a couple of miles from our house, and since no one ever comes to KY to visit us, we are inviting everyone over after the game for drinks and BBQ. Even if you have a job (unlike me) and can’t make the game, you can still come over for the After Party. Should be a real fun time, so be sure to cancel any plans you might already have and come hang out with us. The map is to the Florence Freedom ball field, if you need directions to our house email me or give us a call. Hope to see y’all there!

Adult Lake Trip 2009

This past weekend was the Adult Trip to Norris Lake. There were four couples on Tom and Kathy’s house, and four couples in each of the two Gone South floating house rentals, giving us a total of 12 couples/24 people/48 legs/240 fingers 239 toes/and zero kids/pets.  And with them kind of numbers there was no shortage of fun people to hang out with. From the time we got our first complaint at the marina (2:00 in the afternoon) I knew it was going to be a good weekend. We had good weather (even though the forecast was for 60% chance of thunderstorms all weekend), great food, and awesome drinks! There was singing, swimming, fishing, boating, and floating. And only one minor injury that was quickly fixed up with an ice pack and some dock line.

I had to delete about 600 pictures since there are laws about showing that kind of stuff on the Internet (I’m looking at you Amy!), but you can check out the full Adult Lake Trip 2009 album on the Greatlandings Photo Site. Thanks to all for a great time!

PS – Huge thanks to Megan for babysitting our house and “kids” so we could have fun!

Happy Gradu-gagement!

Yesterday Erin and I went to see our friend Trish graduate from Xavier with her MBA. It was a really nice ceremony and we are all real proud of what she has accomplished. Just don’t make the mistake I did and ask if she can do your taxes, apparently that is completely different. But it does explain why her program took so much longer then the two week H&R Block one.

Anyway, as if that wasn’t reason to celebrate enough. Immediately following the graduation ceremony her boyfriend Kris proposed right in front of the building, and all of us! After about twenty minutes and a quick call to the Psychic Friends Network, she said yes! We then all went to the boat house to celebrate with dinner and drinks (I had the ribs,  shrimp, and beer), followed by a trip to Newport on the Levee for some live music and more drinks (I had more beer).

All and all it was a good night for graduations, engagements, ribs, shrimp, beer, and good times. Congrats to Trish on the MBA, and to Kris and Trish on the engagement!

You can find all the pics in the Trish Gradu-gagement album on the Greatlandings photo site.

*Edit* I have added a short video of the proposal below. Just click the continue reading link.

Mothers Day Camping 2009

In case you missed all the previous messages, reminders, emails, or you don’t own a calendar, this past Sunday was Mothers Day. That then means this past weekend was the annual Mothers Day Camping trip.

We started the weekend off with a little golf on Friday morning at The Mill where the beer was cold, the weather was perfect, and most importantly I beat Andy. Next up was camp were it rained most of the late afternoon and evening, leaving us in a muddy swampy mess. But then came Saturday and Sunday where the nice warm sun dried everything up. Thanks to Adam A’s awesome campsite planning our sites rocked! They were huge and right by the lake so we could go fishing and stuff. If I am not mistaken Cole gets the award for most fish caught, Justin gets one for catching a non-fish (turtle), and Tom and Adam split for most hooks baited.

All and all it was a great weekend and as usual I have already forgotten about the rain on Friday and am looking forward to the next trip. Which if I get a vote should be at least one more time before next Mothers Day.

So Happy Mothers Day to all the moms, and Thank You to everyone else for making Mothers Day Camping one of the best times of the year!

PS – You can find 269 pictures in the Mothers Day Camping 2009 album on the GreatLandings photo site.

Keenland 2009

This past Saturday was the annual Goodtimers trip to the Keenland horse track in Lexington, KY. As you can see from the pictures this year was bigger then ever with not one, but two buses to take everyone down. Despite not wining a single race, Erin and I had a great time.  Check out the whole Keenland 2009 album on the Greatlandings photo site where you can download this great group picture to print yourself, or even order it and have it mailed to you!
