New Years Eve 2009!
In case you missed the official announcement from Ryan Seacrest last night, it was New Years Eve. Erin and I celebrated with about 15 other families at the Holidome near Dayton and we had a total blast. There was tons of fun stuff for the kids to do like swimming, games, free popcorn and cotton candy, ping pong, and a putting green. There was even a DJ who did some fun stuff like a limbo and hula hoop contests. The adults had lots of fun stuff to do as well like drinking, eating, getting drunk, and of course consuming alcohol. All of course except Erin and the other expecting mothers. They just stood around and laughed at the rest of us. All and all the night was a ton of fun and I am really glad Adam A. stepped up to get it planned. I would for sure go back to that place again. But I guess we have another 364 days to get that figured out.
I took a few pictures, but most of the credit goes to Erin. While I was preoccupied with drinking she stepped up and handled the camera for most of the night. You can check them out in the New Years 2009 album on the Greatlandings Photo site. Happy New Year y’all!
Since I had not been home for Christmas in a very long time, Erin and I decided we would head up to Minnesota for the holiday this year. So we packed up the car last Friday afternoon and proceeded to head North. The drive up was pretty uneventful. The weather was nice, we spent the night after about 9 hours and finished up the next day. Erin and I took turns doing the driving so the 13 hours went pretty quick. Plus we listened to the audio book Erin picked called The 8th Confession by James Patterson. Which was an OK book, but I’m not sure I had ever listened to a chick flick before.
We got to meet up with some of my friends I had not seen in a while and Erin got to go to her favorite place in Minnesota, the outlet mall. The week really seemed to fly right by. On Wednesday the snow started falling and continued off and on all the way through the rest of our stay, and our drive home to Kentucky making the trip home much slower and way more stressful. Thankfully we had a much better audio book called I, Alex Cross also by James Patterson that was picked out by me to make things go faster.
Tonight was the annual Goodtimer Family Christmas party and Erin and I were able to attend with the rest of the family. There was good drinks, yummy food, and great company. Santa even stopped by for a little bit to hand out some presents (with the help of his elf). As usual I took a bunch of pictures (mostly of the kids) and you can find them in the
Tom and Kathy were nice enough to have the family over for Thanksgiving this year. We had the most amazing food ever, and I have been enjoying the left overs for several days now. In case you have not seen her yet, the little baby everyone is holding is Simmie and Julie’s new daughter
