Great Landings

Memorial Day was this past Monday and Erin and I were lucky enough to be able to spend the weekend at the lake with family and friends. The weather was perfect, the drinks were delicious, and with the exception of a few hours I can’t seem to remember it was the best time! Cole even got up bright and early twice to go fishing with Tom and John, and both times he came back with a nice small mouth bass. Thanks to Tom and Kathy for lettings us hang out at their house!

This past weekend Erin and I celebrated Labor Day down at the floating house. Others helping us celebrate at the house included Adam, Sarah, Skylar, Cole, Kathy and Debbie. Friday was sort of a quiet evening with everyone being a little tired, but Saturday was a real barn burner with not only Sarah 2… but Sarah 3 and then Sarah 4 even making an appearance! Good times! Erin increased her tolerance by staying up to all hours of the night we the neighbors. All and all it was a great time even if it was a little sad thinking the summer was coming to an end. Erin and I went to the lake again this last weekend. While we were there we hung out at the house with Tom, Kathy, Jon, Ida, Jon, and Lynn. Weather was super hot and sunny all weekend but real nice in the water. Steve and Jan were down as well and we all took a pontoon ride over to Flat Hallow on one of the days. Erin and I headed down to the lake this past weekend for the 4th of July holiday. Other July 4th lake goers included Tom and Kathy (who had been there for a week already!), Adam, Sarah, and the kids, our friend Trish and her boyfriend Chris, Steph and Andy, Megan and Jenny, and Steve and Jan. The weather was good for the most part. Just a couple of storms here and there. Fireworks were great as always and the new float on the house got a nice workout when the singing machine drew in a big crowd one night. All and all it was the best time ever! All floating houses have one thing in common, they float. Some say it is witchcraft, others think it has to do with global warming, I now know the truth. The truth is a nice guy I like to call Scuba Steve comes to your house and puts a giant magic black box under the house and… ummmm… well it just works.

See Tom has been working at a little project at the floating house adding another bedroom. Well apparently when you add all that weight to a structure that floats on magic black boxes, it can make the house sink a little lower and lower into the water. To the point that when you add a “stocky” fella such as myself, the deck becomes even with the water. Hence the need to have Scuba Steve come out and put another magic box under the house.
