The Calm Before the Storm.... quick update on the site here. I have some time off next week and even though my testing of the software I am changing to has not gone all that great, I am going to go ahead with the changeover anyway. What does that mean? This site will either be down or look completely strange for a few days while I get things sorted. In the mean time here is another funny picture. Enjoy~

Sorry! So as I am sure you have noticed there has not been a lot of activity here at GreatLandings.com. Sorry about about that. I have been pretty busy with some other things.

But there is some good news. One of the things I have been hoping to do for a while is make is so other people in the family can post on GreatLandings. Much of the time there are events and news that comes up and I have no idea. Maybe Adam and Sarah want to post Cole's baseball schedule, or Mick and Amy want to put up some pictures of the girls. Right now that is kind of a pain in the but and really requires folks to email me and for me to do the updates. Not a very good system at all.

So I have been working an a solution. In the past month that solution has been narrowed down to one of two software packages. But I was having a tough time picking what one I wanted. One had more features but was harder to use, the other easer but lacked some bigger items I wanted to have. Today we have moved one step closer to having our winner. One of the software packages has had a good size update and may have fixed some of the items I was hoping for. A little more testing and I should know.

So what does that mean for y'all? Basically that I have not forgot about GreatLandings, I have just been a little slow at making some major improvements. But my goal right now is to have the new software installed and working sometime in the next few weeks. In the mean time you may see some strange things on the site, or the site may be unavailable all together as part of the install process will require me to delete everything that is currently up. But rest assured it will be back and hopefully better then ever!

Thanks for your understanding and patience. In the mean time I have included a funny picture and video to make up for the lack of new stuff on the site. Enjoy!

Think you had a bad day.... We haven't had a puppy update for a while so I figured I would put something up. Not to mention I think this picture is absolutely hilarious! JD got fixed today, and from the look on his face he really is half the man he was this morning. But the Doc says he will be fine. He also got weighted today, 55.7 lbs. That is an increase of over 20 lbs since he was last there just 10 weeks ago. And for the math challenged that is over two pounds a week. Just like his daddy!

By the way for anyone keeping track the free puppy is now up to $720.06. But seriously, you can't put a price on this picture!

Anyway, that is it. I am still working on the Christmas, New Years, and 60, 50, 40.... party pictures so watch for them in the near future. See ya~

60, 50, 40.... Party Reminder... Just a quick (and late because of me) reminder that tonight is the 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 party thing at Carol and Fred's. The party starts at 7:00PM and Carol says they will have chili and snacks but you should bring what you want to drink. Also you are supposed to "wear a wig and/or funny hat just for fun". See ya there!

*Update* Carol sent out this reminder about the parking ~ " Please don't park in the yard tonight. If there is no room in the driveway you can pull in Dorothy's driveway (to the left of our house) and park in the back where there is plenty of parking. You'll just have to walk through the yard to the back door. Thanks! Carol"

Rocking Out with Rock Band! So I like my video games, a lot. And one of my favorite as of late is a game called Rock Band. Basically the game lets you "play" music by using fake instruments with color coded buttons. Things like the guitar, drums, and singing. But I am just one person. To make a full band you need a total of four. So last weekend everyone came over for a little Rock Band. I put together a little video so y'all can see us rocking out. There are a few pics of the kids playing the Wii at the end as well. Enjoy~

Tiny Dancer Throws a Party... While I was gone at work this last weekend Erin had the pleasure of attending a party hosted by Steph and Andy at their new house. From the pictures it looks like everyone had a good time. And from the phone message I got in the middle of the night of Andy singing Tiny Dancer to me, it sounded like a great time. Really it sounded a little gay, but I have come to terms with Andy's love for all things Elton John. As long as he quits trying to rub my leg all the time. Anyway, check out the pictures HERE.

Megan takes Physics 101... First off she is OK a little sore, but OK. Second, what do you get when you mix a tiny narrow back road of Indiana, a big road hogging truck, and Megan in here little car? Well you probably get a lot of things, but what I got are pictures of the aftermath. As the story goes a big truck came down said narrow road and in the process of trying to get out of the way Megan rolled her car. I remember when Megan first got her licence and didn't like driving on the highway, I am willing to bet that has now changed. Check out the pictures HERE.

Vegas! Erin and I decided to take a quick trip to Vegas for her birthday this weekend. Total we were there for about 26 hours and man did we do some walking. We rented a car and drove out to the Hover Dam, went to Madam Tussaud's wax museum, and did a whole bunch of gambling. Erin did real good and won a bunch of money on slots. I said Triple... not trouble, but trouble is also true. Today JD turns 16 weeks old and has tripled in size form just over 10 lbs to just under 32 lbs. Overall he is doing good. Starting to listen a little bit more every day and we having had an "accident" since we got the crate. About the only issue left is getting him to sleep through the night. Some nights he does fine, others like last night he wakes us up 5 times to go out.

I told Erin this is like training for a baby. Sadly I have learned that this means her automatic response is to reach over and punch me while still half sleeping. Now I can get over that I told her NOT to bring this puppy home, I can get over the MASSIVE amount of money he is costing me, I can even look the other way when he brings a TURD to the back door (actually I have to look the other way when that happens, yuck!). But the punching me in my sleep has got to stop. I am starting to have nightmares. And I am no expert on marriage, but I don't think I am supposed to be scared to sleep next to my wife.
